Audio Books LibriVox App For Android Phone This great resource that you might not have heard of in fact I feel like no one has heard of because I've seen absolutely no reviews or discussions about it here on book tube or anywhere else on the internet so what is LibriVox you might be asking LibriVox is basically like the project Gutenberg for audiobooks at least four people in the US LibriVox was actually founded back in two thousand five it's ten years old and Still.

I haven't heard anything about it on me don't know I just that's just kind of weird for me sorry and so as I mentioned before it's like the good and Berg press for audiobooks so basically any book that's in the public domain in the US can be used as an audiobook here and is uploaded as an audiobook, in fact, a lot of the books here in the LibriVox library.

Our text from the Gutenberg Project, and the nice thing that's keeping it free is that all the people that are reading for the text here in LibriVox are volunteers they're doing this all the goodness of their heart and their from all over the place in the world there's no requirement for them except for them to have a microphone

Which I'll get back to you guys on that a little bit on later on in the review as to why that might not be a good thing, so the interesting thing about LibriVox is since it's all made up of volunteers the format's that these books to read in can be a little bit different than the usual audiobook setting that you get some audiobooks

You do get a full cast recording but the majority of them are usually just single narrators because it's cheaper just to pay one person to read a book but because all these books are being done by volunteers who aren't getting paid a lot of the books in the LibriVox is library are done by fo casts some of them though they're kind of weird and that their singular narrators

But like the narration gets handed off to another person like one person reads one chapter and then it gets handed off to another person who was seeing that format just threw me off of it so much I don't want that disorientation going on So I haven't listened to any books like that at all I've only listened to the full cast recording ones because I think that's a really cool concept and I think it's kind of sad that professional audio books recordings don't really utilize that because it's too expensive

So how I found out about rocks you might be asking well I wanted to read the Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte in an audiobook format but sadly out of all the libraries that I am in the database around my area, none of them had an accessible recording of the tenant of Wildfell Hall which just one thing to say about that stop and bronze erasure there was recordings for Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights but none for an on so I went to youtube to see if I could find some sort of recording that I could listen to of the town of alcohol and has actually led to liver boxes account.

So I did some more digging on them, and I found out a little bit More about them and that I could download the recording the head of the tenant of Wildfell Hall and put it on my iPod so this review is going to be sole of LibriVox I'm not going to do a review at the tenant of Wildfell Hall although if you're interested in my opinion yes I thought it was a very good book so what it comes down to is basically that I think that liver box is a good resource for what you're paying as we all expected

I think there are some good things about it, for instance, the people that were cast as hell and Graham and Huntington were very well cast and did a very good job I think they had really good pronunciation and gave their characters just the right the amount of character and acting in it that you got to the point to the emotions across but they weren't over acting I wish I could say the same about Grimsby's character that guy way erected in the addition that I listen to another The nice thing about this recording too is that it would have a really nice pace I know a lot of people that listen to audiobooks me include it feel that a lot of professional audio books recordings go to very slow pace this is because they want you to fully understand and comprehend what's going on and get all the words in but I always find them to be just a bit too slow and not at the reading clip that I usually do but the LibriVox ones are at a faster clip

I Appreciate that also another nice thing about it is it's easy to download and access the recordings all it is is basically like you know you type in what you're looking forward to their search bar they'll lead you to whatever recordings they have of it you click on it, and then you click the download button you get a zip file and then you want if it it's very easy you don't have to download any third we're party software To deal with it it's just zip file, and you're done and the cons about it sadly as you might have guessed since these are all volunteers and they're doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and not out of their buckets.

These people sometimes don't always have the right equipment needed to make a professional recording so some of it came out either muddied or garbled or sound like it was recorded enough bathroom stall this would be okay if it was for minor characters, but the particular recording that I was listening to had one of the main narrators there's two of them first one is held that I mentioned had a wonderful recording in the same Owens Gilbert Markham who the actor nice as he was just had horrible, horrible recording equipment he sounded muddied and in a bathroom basically, so that wasn't fun to listen to so, in the end, it all boils down to you get what you pay for and I think it's a good resource if you ever want to read a book that's kind of hard to access but you also don't want to like you know read the text, or you don't have an e-reader to read it on Project Gutenberg you always listen to the audio recording of it or if you're like me and you're having a hard time finding a professional audio recording of it in your library database system well if it's in the public domain then Luber box will probably have it for you
